Spotlight on Aquarius

Eventually there comes a time when there is the need for change. The word has been bantered around so much in recent years. We all say we want it, why it sure looks good on paper, but deep down, do we? Whether or not we’re willing to admit it we like the comfort of familiarity, the security of the established and the promise of consistency. There’s an enticing malaise of continuing on with the tried and true, capitalizing on the relentless and lasting foundations laid by the Saturnian work ethic. But more importantly, change scares us. What will happen if you start rocking the boat? – Why who knows… It could be like that Butterfly Effect where you think you’re making just a minor alteration when really you’re creating a tidal wave that hits Manhattan! And after all, if you just keep doing what everyone else is doing and has been doing for virtual eons, well, it has been working, so why shake things up?

OMG, My Sign Has Changed

As many of you probably know the internet is ablaze with near panic as people are being told that they may not, in fact, be the Sun sign they thought they were. I have been contacted by many students and clients about this and even got a call from the Associated Press about it. If you are interested, you can see a brief comment I made here:

Let me speak about the confusion and let you know that nothing has changed and that you are still the sign you thought you were. Actually, the confusion arises from two different things. The first is the issue of the so-called new sign, Ophiuchus, and the second has to do with what astronomers refer to as the precession of the equinoxes.

Dine Like Your Sign! Capricorn

It’s been over a month since the premiere of Dine Like Your Sign! and while I appreciate the enthusiastic response and kind comments, there was nary a report of culinary adventures; not a single haggis fête. People, people… Don’t tell me there’s a lack of courageous diners out there. Have the fast food moguls won and made us all lazy, line forming drones? No, I refuse to believe it. Yep, I blame the holidays. Surely there’s been enough time to recover now as we move on to our next group of guests. Capricorn! How lovely, they’re on time (of course). If anyone would be prompt and polite, it’s this winter born clan. And so nicely dressed! Shoes all shined, crisp white shirt freshly pressed with vintage cuff links to punctuate the outfit… It’s no wonder I think they’re so sexy. But I digress…After all this isn’t Dress Like Your Sign, so let’s move on to the meal. But if they’re punctuality and appearance is any indication, doubt not — these people are old school class.

Lunar Eclipse, Inferior Conjunction, Winter Solstice…..oh my

It is rare when three significant astrological transits occur at nearly the same time, any one of which is likely to be important, but that is exactly what will happening between December 19 and 21 of 2010. On Dec. 19 at 5:23pm PST, there will be the Inferior Conjunction between the Sun and Mercury at 28° Sagittarius. It will be quickly followed on Dec. 21st by the Lunar Eclipse at 12:13am PST and finally by the Winter solstice at 3:39pm, which is when the Sun reaches its southernmost declination and marks the first day of winter. I want to deal with these one by one, but as you read, I hope you will do your best to imagine that they are all happening basically at the same time. It is so rare that these two astronomical events haven’t occurred together in 456 years. They are all going to affect us in some way, though the people who will be affected the most will be those whose charts are aligned with where these three transits are occurring.

WikiLeaks & More on Sagittarius

I never tire of watching the way that astrology operates in life. Before looking at the astrology of the present revelations, let me make a few comments on my thoughts about the revelations coming from WikiLeaks. Some have called this a ‘historians dream and a diplomats nightmare.’ Right now, when you Google WikiLeaks, you get zilch. Governments are doing all they can to stop this ‘terrible intrusion into diplomat’s private thoughts’ and of course, everyone is complaining about ‘damage to national security.’ What I find interesting is that what is coming out is, to me, a bit reassuring and sometimes just plain obvious. It’s like seeing that the emperor has no clothes. Is this the disaster it is being made out to be? It hasn’t revealed anything nefarious.
